Weekend of bacon!

Post  Cathyk on Mon Nov 09, 2009 12:57 pm

Flatmates partner cooked Coq au vin, felt rude to decline and it smelt divine! The chicken is first coated with flour then browned in the left over fat from the bacon. Sounds a bit grouse now, well that's enough bacon for me for a while.

Had brown rice rather than new potatoes.

Fake Sweeteners

Post  Cathyk on Tue Nov 03, 2009 12:03 am

I've been dying for chocolate the last few days. I found a sugar free version at the supermarket. It tastes good for about 3 seconds and made me really thirsty after eating a whole bar. Cant be good for me!

Start second week

Post  Cathyk on Fri Oct 30, 2009 1:18 pm

first week accomplished! No real slip ups.

Fought the urge to get a regular soy flat white when buying my coffee beans today. They give a free coffee with every bag of beans purchase. Ended up getting it for someone else and making my own when got back into the office. Was thinking about taking no added sugar version next time so they can make me one. Coffee made by someone else tastes better!

No real sugar or wheat cravings. Pretty sure i'm getting leaner my board shorts are sitting lower and workout pants nearly slip of when i'm running. The big difference is my waist it's shrinking! yay!

Tuesday & Wednesday

Post  Cathyk on Wed Oct 28, 2009 1:52 pm

Doing really well i'm surprised at how full i feel.

It's only the first week and i haven't been confronted by bakery food (my weakness) yet!.. Our office is due a cake this week but luckily I've got the day off tomorrow when it's been brought in.

Strange but i think i feel happier, must be because my blood sugars not going on a roller coaster ride Smile

Monday

Post  Cathyk on Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:10 pm

Found putting a little salt in water helped hydrate for Waka training. Ate some grapes also for sugar Like a Star @ heaven No need for sports drink.

Good breakfast had ground almonds, plain yogurt with stewed apple and berries. I added a little Stevia to stewed fruit tastes yum.

Had first coffee in 3 days today! Thought i was a coffee addict apparently not. I had no headaches or felt tired.
I found a soy milk that has no added sugar by vita soy. It really tastes different from the regular one i'm used to. It will take a few days not to mis the sugar in it. Glad i can go with out coffee until i can make my own flat white.

Ate at noodle bar had a little slip up using dipping source, it must have sugar as it's sweet.

Protein with each meal and good fats/oils.
    Plenty of water
Only after 1 hour training or race day I'll have an *electrolyte drink
I'll post progress and any slip ups (if any)
